To combat dehydration: When I say my skin gets dehydrated, I don't just mean dry. I'm talking about patches of itchy, flaky and tight skin on my face that feel rough and almost scaly at times (I swear I'm not turning into a fish, it's just dehydrated skin...I hope). Seeing as it's not my whole face that gets this way, what I do before bed is slather Clinique's Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel onto the dehydrated patches. This stuff is intensely moisturising and has worked wonders for me; by the time I wake up my skin feels much less tight and the flakes are on their way out the door.
To improve dullness: I've never had a true 'Holy Grail' product until I tried the REN Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask. Though it's formulated with four acids which can sound a bit intense, after leaving this mask on for 10 minutes then rinsing with warm water, I notice immediate improvements to the texture and brightness of my skin. Used once a week, this mask leaves my skin feeling super soft and has actually made a noticeable improvement in fading my post-acne scars and lightening pigmentation. Heads up, this stuff smells strongly of citrus and orange peel which I find lovely, but others may not!
For dryness (on the lips): I love wearing lipsticks, but nothing I do can make lipsticks look good if I have dry lips. This is where Dior Creme de Rose Lip Balm comes into play; it's a thick, rose-scented moisturising balm that uses shea butter to hydrate the lips. I find using this once a day prevents my lips from chapping or cracking and bleeding (the worst!) due to the nippy winter air. It does claim to be a 'plumping' balm which didn't appeal to me, but honestly I've never noticed any tingling while using the product and it hasn't plumped my lips in the slightest; just moisturised intensely which I love.
The combination of all these products have really been helping my skin and I swear if this REN mask continues to improve my post-acne scarring I might need to propose to it. Needless to say, when I find skincare products I love, I stick with them.
