(From left to right: Patisserie, Syrup, Shy Girl, Plumful)
Over the years I've branched out and have incorporated a lot of different brands into my routine but I still love those bullet shaped tubes that are MAC lipsticks. 90% of the lipsticks I own are MAC so I thought I'd round up the best of them and share.
Whenever I want a good 'my lips but better' lipstick Patisserie is the one I go for. It's a very wearable light pink shade with a subtle peachy hue. The formula is quite creamy so I usually just apply it straight from the bullet without bothering with lip balm beforehand to prime. One of the main reasons I love this lipstick is because it pairs nicely with basically any eye makeup look and it's not really a seasonal shade so I can happily wear it all year round.
Speaking of seasonal shades, Plumful and Syrup are beautiful for autumn/winter. On my lips both are a mix of pink, plum and purple, with Plumful leaning more berry pink and Syrup more purple. I initially expected Plumful to be a little more plum as the name would suggest (duh) but after adjusting to its pink hues I've come to love it. If you're like me and tend to wear a lot of black, both of these lipsticks are great for adding a nice pop of colour to your look.
For summer I can't go past Shy Girl which is a straight up nude peach shade, no doubt about it. If your skin tone is fairer than mine (is that even possible?) then this might lean too nude on you, but I think as long as you apply with a light hand then you should avoid the 'corpse lips' look. For me, Shy Girl just adds a nice touch of peach to the lips which I think looks great paired with dewy skin and glowy cheeks in the warmer months.
Naturally my wish list for lipsticks is forever growing but that about rounds up my current favourites.
I've actually got a Back To Mac coming up so I'd love to know, what are your favourite MAC lipsticks?
